Brooding

NeverStill, Oregon

Rose Allred and I worked late into the night, packing for markets this weekend. I harvested our first batch of ducklings from this year’s crop. They are young, delicate, fatty and tender farm ducklings. The kids love tending to the little chicks in the brooders. Such a delight watching our fledgling brood of children caring for the broods of birds. The kids were in good spirits enjoying the warm spring evening and helping us stuff a lovely array of sausages. We also packed a new batch of mustard and pickles, made gorgeous cuts of boar and lamb, smoked bacon and hocks and harvested a few Poulardes.

I will be operating the Magic Meat Truck this weekend. Find me Saturday morning at University District, Saturday evening on Vashon Island, Sunday at Ballard, and Monday and Friday evenings in Portland! Details of time and address are at the bottom of this email.

Xoxo,

—George
