Huck, our majestic guardian dog saves the bacon!

After a disheartening loss of several of our sheep to coyotes on the island last fall, we decided to invest in a trained Akbash livestock guardian dog. Huck joined us this spring and has been an amazingly effective deterrent to all manner of predators both airborne and earthbound. His constant vigilance has allowed us to safely free range our ducks 24 hours a day, eliminating the need to pen the birds at night. This not only frees us up from a laborious nightly chore, but allows the birds to forage twice as long.

Autumn dining series at La Boucherie

At long last, we release our next series of dining events at our restaurant annex , La Boucherie, in the heart of Vashon Village. With our most successful summer farmer's market season in our history now safely behind us, we are ready return to our cozy dining space. Bringing our farm's autumn bounty to your plate, we look forward to lighting the candles, setting the tables and tucking into a bountiful feast as the winds and rains howl outside.

Our 2016 Farm Experience Dinners (feds) were a huge success, selling out far too soon, and leaving so many of you wanting to join us. This year we are giving you plenty of notice to grab your tickets well in advance. On a soon to be announced date later this fall we will release our entire series of dates for the 2017 season. Once released, we expect them to sell out within very short order.
