The vision incubates
Inspired by the various mobile market kiosks used primarily by meat, charcuterie, seafood and cheese vendors at the French outdoor markets, I set out to locate a manufacturer of mobile vending platforms in the states. This fruitless search yielded many “taco truck” units, and plenty of custom truck and trailer fabricators across the country, but nothing like what I had seen in Europe. The custom fabricators were intrigued by the notion but didn’t quite understand what I was looking for. The truth was, I wasn’t quite sure myself. I remembered what I had seen, but I wasn’t quite sure what all was involved. I decided the best way to learn was to return to the source. Scouring photos from my travels, I noticed the insignia near the bottom of a mobile cheese vendor’s kiosk: “Euromag - Véhicules Magazin”. Roughly translated: EuroShop - Mobile Stores. After a look at their website and a few stilted phone conversations we scheduled a factory visit for February 2018.
To be continued.
