The Snowball Effect

Volume Four | 2021 - The Neverstill Chapters, Part One

We awoke to find a light blanket of snow covering the farm Tuesday morning.I figured I would show the kids how to make a snowman, or at least give it a try. There wasn't a lot of snow, but it seemed doable. We started with a tiny golf ball sized snowball and rolled it around until it was the size of a soccer ball. The kids loved the concept, but then decided it was more fun to kick the ball, which resulted in lots of little pieces, which then turned into a mini snowball fight. It was jolly fun until little toes and fingers became too cold and we unbundled into the farmhouse and made our favorite breakfast; crêpes with summer berry jam! As I stood at the stove cooking the thin pancakes, I mused about the "Snowball Effect", and how it can be a good thing, like accelerating ones way out of debt, or a bad thing, such as when circumstances careen out of our control. I decided next time a vexing life situation snowballs into a monstrosity, I will kick into tiny, more manageable pieces. And then have crêpes with berry jam!I am eager to see each of you in the Magic Meat Truck this weekend. We have many delights for the holiday week, including gorgeous, fatty Christmas goose.Xoxo.GeorgeA note on holiday scheduling: We will not be at UD on Saturday 25 December.
