Birthing a Space. A Love Letter from Rose.

Each birth is unique. It is a positive feedback loop, started by a seemingly small disturbance, that organically and almost magically magnifies into the unveiling of some unfathomable beauty. As I age and gain motherly wisdom, I find myself deeply trusting this beautiful process of creation and birth. I have found the more I lean into my own self, my own power, my own sacred knowing, the more seamlessly this can unfold.

The wisdom I have gained as mother, birther and creator is atomically interconnected with the creativity in all of my life. I find when we lean into our own intuition it’s almost as if the fabric of life weaves itself, and we as humble, small beings, bear witness, in awe, to life’s beauty and majesty.

Whether at the hospital or at home, each of my births has been with such intuition. I have pulled life from my own body, and sparked light into otherwise dark spaces. Roman’s birth was at the hospital. In my mind’s eye I can still see the shock and awe of the seven female doctors in the room as they had the privilege of witnessing me birth akin to an ancestral beast. Madrona, I sang into this world, overlooking Puget Sound, in the sanctity and warmth of my wood-fired cedar tub. River, like lightning, was born on what felt like a different plane of energy. With near-telekinesis, I saw behind me without looking, and conducted my environment to be just so, orchestrating our safe delivery. Amora was born in the deepest ocean of love and trust, where I so swiftly and acutely accessed my deepest wisdom, allowing her waves of life to quickly and effortlessly grace this world.

This organic process of birth is not limited to the beautiful children that my husband and I create but is infused in everything that we do, and every space we create.
